I am currently 33 years old, living in the attic of my uncle's house here in the Amish country of Pennsylvania...

Updated: Jun 14, 2024

No I am not Amish of course. I would be in some trouble with my elders if I was. I do live on a farm, but I am no farmer either.

Living tucked in the rolling hills of farmland within Lancaster County, I dwell with my husband, Steven, and my cat, Monarch.

Here is the cat photo tax:

It's been quite the journey before we all got here, but in this blog, I will enjoy telling you about the area, share my photography, birding, other art and adventures as of late.

The property we are living on, that is owned by my uncle, is a lovely old restored and renovated farmhouse. The original property was established in the 1800's. You can still see the exposed remnants of the original tiny log cabin in what is now the side entrance and dinning room of the newer home.

You walk eastward through the dinning room toward a wall of glass. Framing the backyard of green and deep purple of two Japanese Maples. You hear the gentle rush of the river that lays at the base of the property.

You're damn right my ass is in a chair out there every chance I get, drinking my coffee!

This won't last forever, so we enjoy it and take it all in while we still can.

It's a cozy, rainy day

My aunt use to live here too. Everywhere you look, her touches have not moved, have not changed, still full of the love she had for her family.

Pancreatic cancer took her life a few years ago. Cancer infects so many people's lives, disrupts, causes chaos and confusion. Of all people, a woman who treated and cared for other human beings with cancer. Watching them overcome, watching them suffer, watching family members pace hallways lost in thought and emotion.

Why her?

Even if you scream it into the void, and painfully try to listen for an answer, no one and nothing will ever answer back.

In this blog, I will take you through my art, how it heals, what inspires me, how to's, and what I have learned. I did not go to art school, I am self taught in everything I have done so far.

Enjoy this journey with me in learning and exploring! 🧡🧡
